Screenplay Competition
Welcome to the Honolulu Film Awards Screenplay Competition. This annual screenplay competition was created to help aspiring screenwriters break into the entertainment industry as well as to support emerging new talent. We are currently accepting entries in all lengths and genres.

Ten scripts will be recognized as Official Finalists in the Competition along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners. Three Winners will also be selected from among the Short Screenplay category.
Cash prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Contest Rules and Conditions
Screenplay Competition Entry Fee is $30.
The deadlines are:
Early Bird Deadline - August 20, 2011
Regular Deadline - November 20, 2011
Late Deadline - January 20, 2012
Extended Deadline - March 10, 2012
Screenplays written by up to four people may be entered in the competition. Only one entry fee and one entry form is required for such entries. All authors' names should be listed on the entry form.
You may submit multiple entries; each screenplay submitted must include its own separate entry form and entry fee.
Screenplays should be in standard screenplay format and should be no longer than 180 pages.
Short screenplays (under 50 pages) are accepted.
Submissions must be the original work of the applicant. Entries, however, may be adapted from the applicant’s own work which should be noted on the entry form.
If the script is based on a true story, historical or contemporary, that should be noted on the title page of the script.
Script materials will not be returned.
